Students of all ages will be demonstrating to everyone the wondrous talent that they have. We have singers, musicians, dancers and even a juggler! You don’t want to miss out on this spectacular event!

Music in the Movies

Coming up on Wednesday, February 29 we will be having our annual Music in the Movies concert. It will be held in the large gym at 7:00 PM. It features the concert and jazz bands playing themes from various movies and TV shows. They will be playing many songs that you won’t want to miss, like the Hawaii Five-O theme, the theme from How to Train Your Dragon, the William Tell Overture (the Lone Ranger), as well as many others. The tickets are $5 a person or $10 a family. There will also be snacks, drinks and popcorn sold at the concession stand.

Envision Jazz Festival Video

The Envision Jazz Festival went amazingly well. Both of the bands played the best they’ve ever played and the solos were superb. The adjudications with both bands went well too. If you would like to see the performance, the recording is now available in the Video Section under Resources, along with several past concerts. We will be adding recordings of all major concerts in the future to this page as well.

Envision Jazz Festival

Welcome to 2012! Our next performance will be for the Jazz Bands only, the Envision Jazz Festival. The Envision Jazz Festival goes from Thursday, February 9 to Saturday, February 11 at the Sheraton Guildford Hotel. Both Jazz Bands will be performing on Friday, January 10 (Add to Google Calendar). The Senior Jazz Band will be playing at 1:30 PM in the Guildford Ballroom and the Junior/Intermediate at 3:20 PM in the Tynehead Ballroom. Both bands will be spending most of the day at the Festival. We will need parent drivers to drive the students to and from the festival as well as to the various activities during the trip. We will have more details closer to the festival.

Christmas Concert

On Thursday December 15, we will be having our annual Christmas Concert. The Grade 7 Bands will be playing from 6PM to 7PM. All the Concert Bands and the Choir, in addition to some separate groups of singers will be singing or playing from 7PM to 9PM. People do not need to stay behind to help clean up as we will be having a mini version of the concert in school the following day. All participants in the assembly must be at the school by 8AM on Friday. We hope you have a great Christmas and a joyous New Year.

Merry Christmas.

Fall Concert 2011

Dear parents and students:

Our first concert is coming up: Wednesday, November 2 at 7:00 pm. Our concert bands will be playing a variety of repertoire from Johann Sebastian Bach and a piece about Krakatoa to themes from Transformers Hawaii 5-O and How to Train Your Dragon. In spite of our late start with the jazz bands and choir we have worked up some really fantastic repertoire in the last few weeks such as a cool African song, swinging tunes from the big band era to hits by Santana and Coldplay. There’s something for everyone!

The suggested donation is $5 per person or $10 per family at the door. Grade 8 to 12 band and choir students are expected to attend as part of their mark and grade 7 band students will receive 5% extra credit for attending and reviewing the concert.

The uniform is all black including black dress shoes and socks or nylons with the Titans Music blue tie for the guys and blue scarf for the girls. Scarves and ties will be handed out for grade 8 band and new music students the night of the concert @ 6:00 pm for $10. You keep this scarf or tie for all your years in music. Girls can wear any kind of combination of all black slacks, knee length skirt or dress, blouse or sweater as long as it covers the shoulders, chest area and is no shorter than to-the-knees for skirts or dresses.  Nylons must be solid black.  We are going for a modest and professional look.

Please come out and support your child’s music making!
